Bangladesh cricket team set one record after another by getting Ireland at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. After losing the toss and batting first, the Tigers set the record for the highest run in their history in ODIs with the bat of Shakib and Touhid Hriday.
Bangladesh collected 338 runs after losing 8 wickets in the scheduled 50 overs. The Irish got a chance to play 30.5 overs to reply. That’s all out, just 155 runs. Bangladesh won by a huge margin of 183 runs.
It is also Bangladesh’s biggest win by runs. Before this, Bangladesh’s biggest victory by runs was 169 runs. Against Zimbabwe, in 2020.
Sylhet has become a record delivery venue for Bangladesh. The previous highest run margin victory also came from Sylhet. This time again the victory came from the Nainavaram Sylhet International Stadium next to the Lakkatura tea garden by the highest margin of runs.
Shakib Al Hasan and Towhid Hridoy scored 93 and 92 runs respectively after losing the toss. Both missed out on centuries. But based on these two innings Bangladesh got the highest collection of 338 runs in their history. Mushfiqur Rahim scored 44 runs off 26 balls.
After coming down to reply, the Irish were all out for 155 runs in front of the Bangladeshi bowlers. Ebadot Hossain took 4 wickets. Spinner Nasum Ahmed took 3 wickets. Taskin Ahmed took 2 wickets and Shakib Al Hasan took 1 wicket.
