Shakib Al Hasan, the world’s best all-rounder, will reach another milestone by scoring only 24 runs against Ireland today. Earlier Tamim Iqbal had stepped on this record. He collected eight thousand 143.

After this, the all-rounder will enter the club of seven thousand runs (6976 runs) in ODI cricket as the second cricketer of Bangladesh. Meanwhile, Mushfiqur Rahim (6901) needs 99 more runs to reach the same milestone.

Wishing good luck to Shakib’s batting position, Tiger head coach Hathurusinghe said that Shakib has done well in all the positions in which he has batted. From a broader perspective going forward, he will bat in positions where he can help the team win.

 

In the 2019 World Cup, Shakib scored 606 runs with 2 centuries and 5 half-centuries at the number 3 position. However, batting at number 5 in the last ODI series against England, he played innings of 58 and 75 runs. Shakib batted at the number 3 position in only 36 innings of his 227 ODI career. Batted at number 5 most of the time. Shakib has 6976 runs and 300 wickets in 227 matches.
